Lutz This jump is similar to the flip in use of the legs (same skating leg, same toe assist) the difference is the take off edge which must be the back outside edge to be considered correct. Single: The skater begins on the back outside edge tapping the ice with the toe pick of the opposite foot directly behind the skating foot completing one rotation and landing on the back outside edge of the opposite foot. Double: Starting on the back outside edge of the skate the skater taps the toe pick of the opposite foot into the ice directly behind the skating foot completing two rotations and landing on the back outside edge of the foot opposite of the one the skater begins on. Triple: The skater starts on the back outside edge of the blade tapping the toe pick of the opposite foot into the ice completing three rotations and lands on the back outside edge of the of the foot used to tap the ice.
