Danielle and Steve began figure skating at the ages of 3 and 8. They both skated as single skaters and as a pair until 1996 when they decided to compete only as a pair.
Both Danielle and Steve graduated from John Glenn High School in Westland Mich. with honors.
They are the only pair to win all three medals at the Junior World Championships. Silver in 1995, bronze in 1996, and gold in 1997.
Danielle and Steve entered the 1999 U.S. National Championships, after placing first in both the short program and the long program, they won the title.
After missing the 2000 U.S. Nationals, because Danielle was suffering from a broken knee cap, they came back in the 2001 U.S. National Championships to win the bronze medal.
