She was first paired with Russian Maxim Sevostianov. In 1994 they competed in the U.S. National Championships and finished 6th. They then competed for Israel at the 1994 World Championships where they finished 28th overall.

Galit then changed partners and began skating with Sergei Sakhnovski.

Sergei began when he was 4 years old . Like Galit, Sergei first skater in free-style but he switched to ice dance at the age of 8.

He has had several partners, winning the World Junior Championships in 1993 and placing 2nd in 1994 with Ekaterina Svirina.

Galit and Sergei progressed quickly after becoming partners and came in 6th at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah, and taking home the bronze medal at the 2002 World Championships.
